Let's Talk: Safe Routes
Thursday, May 1, 2025 @ 5:45 pm | Virtual
Why does mutual aid matter? Because, as Saidiya Hartman reminds us, “Care is the antidote to violence”. In every era of state violence, our people have built safe routes—networks of care, survival, and resistance. The modern Underground Railroad is already in motion. You are part of it.
Join MLAZ, MODABA Education Center, Black River Life, and Tomorrow We Vote for our next Let’s Talk: Safe Routes. Together, we’ll unpack how abolitionist mutual aid, skill-sharing, and community defense can build the safety we know the state will never provide. Whether you’re brand new to abolition or decades deep in mutual aid work, this space is for you.
Everyone is welcome in this virtual space! We’ll be utilizing breakout rooms so Black and non-Black participants can have relevant conversations.
